07:08 pm - Anthrocon 2007 Post Analysis
Okay, last one I promise.
So what did I -really- think of the convention? Well first, I don't think I got the full con experience anyway. I didn't go to any room parties. Getting drunk with people I don't know ... eeeehhhhhh, not really my thing. If its with a bunch of friends, sure.
I'll definately be attending another con in the future. I'm not sure how to describe the way I feel about it, but it seems like I've only scratched the surface of the fandom. It made me want to get more involved with it, but at the same time I want to maintain a certain amount of sanity. It can't be that hard. I should've brought my fursuit, even if it's 50 sizes too big, doesn't have a tail and the head is a little messed up. I guess I can (try to) mod it.
Meeting people you've known on the net for years for the first time in person (and even without expecting it) is pretty awesome.
But there's something I need to work on. If I were to name one of my biggest issues concerning people and being social, it would be that I have a huge problem just letting loose and having fun. It wouldn't be such an issue if I was just drunk all the time, huh.
Just relax.

I forgot about your fursuit. I told you that you should have brought it!
Who did you meet, anyway?
If you know enough people there, Midwest Furfest in November is a much smaller and more relaxed con to go to. I dunno how feasible it is for you to go this year, but it's something to think about.

Nono, I have to wear the suspenders under the fursuit, so that the crotch isn't at my ankles. That's how big it is. =)

Thinking on it, I wonder if the suit might help with your shyness? Being in a furry persona, and not having to talk, might give you a different angle on interacting with others. Although, there is the chance of getting pounced by over-excited furs, and the extra attention from being SO DARNED CUTE! But I also thought of Chaka, and how he decribed suiting as helping him past physical contact issues.
Just some thoughts! :)
I took pictures from the Halloween concert and I don't find them... Makes me sad. It was really cute : ) |
